Colin says: Roa Island as seen from Rampside. The tall structure on the left is an old lighthouse.
DL says: The tall structure is actually No 4 leading light. It was built in the distinctive Furness railway style in the 1860s and is still in use today, deapite plans by ABP to replace it in the 1980s with a more modern structure. A similar light stood on Tummer Hill Marsh north of Biggar Village but that was demolished and replaced. After representations by Barow Civic and Local History Society, this structure was preserved and is now a Listed Building.
