Colin says: The slag banks of Barrow in Furnace as seen from the old road in Walney Island's Northern Nature Reserve.
DL says: All the hard surfaced (concrete and/or tarmac) on and north of the airfield were either taxiways or aircraft dispersal areas for RAF Walney. The RAF barracks themseles and other related sites were south of the airfield.
