Colin says: Amazon Hope 2 is shortly to leave Barrow-in-Furness, where she recently underwent a major refit and final preparations for its trans-Atlantic voyage. The ship was kept indoors at Barrow while BAE Systems prepared her for what will undoubtedly be the vessels longest ever voyage. It has been a tremendous effort from BAE who amongst other things have fitted the ship with a water purification plant, repainted the whole ship, and installed an additional radar system. All of BAE's work on Amazon Hope 2 was done free of charge.
